can i do anything with a xmods controller?

looking for a project to do and i have an idea

but i dont know what to do with it· i have an xmods controler is there anyway i can make my boe-bot go by the controler?

    Yes you could. It has been done with radioshack's zip zaps, see this thread http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=555731. The difference is that xmods have slightly proportional control, which you could take advantage of.

    What you would need to do is get your stamp (what do you have?) to take input from the electronics of the xmod (I'm assuming you have the car and the transmitter). You could probably use an analog to digital converter to convert the voltage output of the xmod's electronics that goes to the motor. Once you can convert the signal, you can do whatever you want with it. However, I am not sure how you could convert the signal for the steering. Most hobby level RC cars use PWM signals to control steering servos and electronics speed controls that vary the motor's speed, but xmods may be different (or they could be the same).

    If you want to make something remote control, why not use a wireless playstation controller? They have 2 proportional joysticks, and tons of buttons. They are also easy to use, see this thread http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=573796.
