The Crawler Kit is on Sale now, you can convert your BoE into a bug-like crawler.· Make it into a crawling light-show.· Connect it to some object detection and trigger some lights.

    What's your interest?

i had this same ordeal, ive actually left my boe bot alone, but once i got bored with it i went to walmart and bought a little RF car for 10 dollars(the ones without digital proportional throttle) and tore the guts out and made the car control the boe bot. it was time consuming and an easy learning experience, go from there, or like PJ said buy the kit its on sale right now. If you understand what you learned in the book and read the book(which was my problem the first time) you will think many projects up as youyr reading. Right down what you think while your reading through, reading infrared you might think "Man i could make this..." write it down, try to acomplish it. I hope this helped a little because it wasnt too long ago i was having this issue but now i have a new constant project im working on!

well, the problem with that weston is that the propotianal steering gets pretty complicating, your best bet is to buy an OLD ZipZap, Look in completed projects ull see a tutorial on using it, the probem with it is that the proportianal steering using a POT which is very hard to determine the value which makes it quite difficult to figure out how to control the boe bot with that car. the ones without it have six wires

    LEFT
    RIGHT
    BACK
    FRONT
    NEGATIVE
    POSITIVE

basically if left is triggered it grounds to 0, else its a one simply put you can decide whats being pressed by checking these for values.

Attached is the code that i used to do this.. im still a little messy so ignore that haha

    try FSM or Subsumption
    good start at BlueBell
    http://www.bluebelldesign.com/Subsumption_Engine.htm
Making the Boe-Bot wonder and avoid objects was not as easy as I thought it might be. It might be a sinch for you...

    Hello Weston,
    ·
You can take a look at some mini-projects posted in the Stamps in Class Forum (the Boe-Bot full kit is a Stamps in Class product so you can find more information there or in the Robotics forum).

There is also a book that expands the use of the Boe-Bot with the hardware you already own. You only need a programmable remote control. You can download or buy the book from this link:
