Read Range of the RFID

Im planning a little project with this RFID reader but before i buy it i need to make sure where im putting it it will be able to read, i wanted to hide it in my car under neath the dash padding but now reading 5cm, im worried it wont be able to read through it. can someone answer what card will read best farthest?

    I think what·your are tring to do will work but you will have keep the reader will have to be as close to the dash as you can get it

    I·put the reader in a plastic box and it works real good

    ·But i notice that if you put to much space from box lid to the reader it would not work now
    if i mounted the reader as close to lid it works but you have to put card to the box lid then it works good

    ·· If the reader is behind a metal panel it won't work.· The metal will act as a sheild for the RF Signals.· Plastic should work.· Take care.

    Where can i get the Sokymat Keychain RFID card, obviously for my application im going to want somthing on my key chain so does anyone know the sokymat website or somwhere i can buy it thats compatibler with this reader?

    Just remember BOTH transmitter and receiver MUST be compatible with one another.

    I Went there and its impossible to find somwhere to buy these things, all i found was Available on requent by: Titan and i dunno what to do or what type to get, i did buy the little round tag but ide like to get one that will go on my keychain im not sure on the readers capabilitys and compatibility with any of this. i just seen in the N&V that he had the Keyfob

    Sokymat (Changed to Cyntag) has several tags compatible with our Reader at the following link.

    you have to call to order anything? ide like to be able to get it online, do they sell just one to people? or give out a sample one like MAXIM and all them?

    I do know that they will send out samples to companies, I recommend that you request some samples.· The worst thing that can happen is that they say no.
