Looking the 1x16 Scott Edwards LCD Docs - circa 1995

I working on a little stamp project here, and wanted to use my old 1x16 LCD.· Problem is I can't find the original docs describing the control codes for; ClearScreen, Backspace, and CursorPositions.· I have tried, but not very hard, to use the control codes for a more modern 2x16 LCD, but the control codes I used always display junk chars.
I would give the exact model number if there was one.· I know I bought it from Scott Edwards back in 1995 or 96.· On the LCD Backpack board it simply says:
Serial LCD Backpack
(c) Scott Edwards 1995 Rev 03
And the LCD has a silver bezel - if that helps.
Can anyone help me out with this?· Thanks.
