    What kind of metal detector?

Here is a small PI (Pulse Induction) metal detector that I posted some time ago, but there are many other types.

WOW, that's cool. Did you ever play with it? What kinds of results did you get?
·Parallax pays you to design and build things like that? ·Dream job, hiring? tongue.gif

I built that before I was a Parallax employee...

Parallax hired me because I know how to design IC's, and I like doing it.
In addition, the raw nature of my ideas of the things that I build or come
up with that contribute to the forum has intrigued Parallax enough to spark
    an interest over the years.

Your right, it is a dream job and I love it!!

    I'm glad somebody who's an engineer·has a job·they like.

I've known so many engineers who do nothing but complain about their jobs, and it irritates me. I'm in my 30's and about to graduate with an EE, I just need to fiinsh this last (easy) semester. Some people have to be engineers I think.·After the military scool.gif when I was a tech I worked at a really small R+D RF microwave shop, it was actualy fun to work there. If it wasn't for Parallax being 2000 miles away I'd be camping on your doorstep.
