I read thru this page well and I understand the process and the flow of control and the action that takes places at each of the flow points.
IMHO, I feel that the fig 3.9 is not doing justice to the text and I feel the text is pretty well written. I feel the figure needs to be a little bit more verbosive (that is currently missing and thus misleading) w/ legend lapels indicating the flow "steps".
I'd be more than happy to send a pic of what I think might be correctly picturized the verbiage.
