Using IBM Tablet with Basic Stamp

We have been able to install Basic Stamp on the·Tablet. When connecting the·Boe-Bot to run·a·program in Basic Stamp it does not identify the USB Com port. The Boe-Bot·does not seem to be recognized by the computer when pluged into the USB port.·We have not had this problem using other IBM Laptops (Not Tablet). This seams to be a problem to the IBM Tablets.

Is there a special software to get the Boe-Bot recognized on the Tablet.

Thanks

I'm not sure I am familiar with a Tablet PC, but is it running Windows XP?· Do you have the correct USB VCP Driver installed?

If you click on the link listed below and open the Windows XP PDF file and then scroll down to the "Trouble Shooting" section, this·might fix the communication issue.·

Our Robotics club is getting Windows 8 tablets with USB ports this week -- just found out today. I need to find out if there is either an app or a way to get the current PBasic editor to work, as well as get the tablets to recognize the robots.

Considering others are having problems with XP tablets... how much hope should I have?

Are the Windows 8 tablets "RT"? 8.1 works fine (assuming the correct drivers are loaded). Windows 8 RT only uses apps from the app store, so not sure if that will work. Lots of Windows 8 tablets are running the RT version so beware.

You may also want to use the USB 2.0 not 3.0 ports if possible.

Loaded the software on the Dell Latitude Win 8 tablets and the software works just great.
