I looked on the Parallax site could not find a Transceiver.
is Parallax planning to offer it soon.

it is a lot more then the Parallax price for a lot less only one side of a two stamp communications package.

does anybody know if this will work with the Basic II stamp

Yes, the transceiver that is shown at the link that you listed is compatible with the BS2.· I have attached a couple of test codes for you.
