SERIN With SX

When you run SERIN with the SX Chip, does it just grab what is currently on the line, or does it wait for the start bit?
ie...If I have a neutral 5V on the pin, will it automatically read "FF" and move on with the program, or will it Halt the program, and 'wait' for a start bit and data?
thanks
Shaun

SERIN will wait for the input to go to the IDLE state before clocking in any bits. So if the line is held in the ACTIVE state, it will wait.
