Digital to Analog converter?

Alright, bare with me....i am VERY new at electronics.· I dont understand what converter if any i would need to get my Basic Stamp board to read a temperature sensor such as a ds1620.· I have lots of questions, but i will start with this one.··

    thanks...ill check it out. also, real quick question. Lets say all i wanted was a temperature display from LED seven segment letters. What board would i need to compact the size, obviously i wouldnt want the big homework board.

    With the DS1620, you don't need an additional converter. The DS1620 is a direct temperature to digital chip that hooks up directly to Stamp pins.
