USB Virtual Com Port (VCP) device driver problem

No one likes to get the dreaded "No BASIC Stamps found." message when you run the Identify function for the first time.· It didn't make me happy.· The device driver for the USB Serial Port was not installing properly.· What worked for me was to go to·the FTDI web site at http://www.ftdichip.com· Under Support I found Driver Support and from there I checked out the Drivers link.· I clicked on VCP (for Virtual Com Port) and found the·solution to the problem.· After downloading version 2.00.00 of the device driver, I also spotted an "installation executable" program called CDM_Setup.exe.· I downloaded it, I ran it, and the rest is history.· The Run|Identify function in the BASIC Stamp Editor/Development System (v2.2) is happy. I am happy.
