i was wondering if im able to use a BS2sx with the carrier board and software i got with my BOE ?

im looking to some projects beyond the "robot" format and was hoping i could just buy a new chip and pop it into the same carrier board for my new experiments?

thoughts...comments??

thanks for helping out a noob!!!

Yes, absolutely, a BS2sx is pin and socket compatible with the BS2. It runs faster internally, and some of the 'tick rates' are different (for example, SERIN/SEROUT baud-mode values are different) but they're completely hardware compatible.

    great! thank you !!

funny you mention the SERIN/SEROUT being faster ... thats actuclly the reason im looking to switch, im interested in doing some midi in and have read numerous places that altho the sx isnt the BEST option...it's at least an experimental option... and the midi in data that im looking to use is fairly minimal so im thinking i'll have good luck with it.

    thanks again
