IEEE 488 bus general purpose interface bus

I was wandering if someone as already implemented this bus. If not I will try to implement it for the javalin. Please let me know.

I have not seen such a class.
I found a good description here:

(just the first 14 pages that end with·a code example, the rest is about usb).
As the IEEE 488 requires 16 I/O lines,
are you planning on dedicating an entire javelin to this bus?

No not one javelin, I would like to create the serial version used by Commodore, it uses 5 pins. I would like to migrate this project to the javelin and to take it to an other level. I would like to add ftp capabilities to it. link is http://jderogee.tripod.com/project1541.htm

Yes thats the bus. I am designer a abstract bus with the concrete serial implementation, if someone wish to have the parallel version the can implement it by them selves.

monitors a serial IEC bus (program IEC-CRO)
via a printer port. Might be useful to you.
