3 propellor master-slave system

I just had to do it. A master demoboard and two slave propsticks share P0-P7 as databus. A counter generates·150 KHz sync pulses, on which the master adresses a slave, sends two longs and receives two longs. Burstspeed is 4MByte/sec, so overall 600K longs/sec are transferred. Don't ask me yet what I am going to do with the system, just experimenting with the propellor·is already a lot of fun.·And don't laugh over·the driver code, this is the first piece of software·I have written since (multiple double digits) years, so I have to relearn a lot.

Rob7, my fantasy was triggered by the "supercomputer" thread http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=25&p=1&m=121344. No, the idea was not I/O pin expansion, that can easily be done with a few external IC's. I am playing around with ideas on video signal processing applications, where multiple props could come in handy for reasons of video data storage requirements and processing speed (Vidi-wall, colour blob detection and tracking), and where some form of Prop2Prop communication would be needed.

What gauge wire are you using for the jumpers on the breadboard. Is it single or multi-strand?

The wires are .7mm single core pre-stripped and bend from an assortement box with different lengths (see www.conrad.de article 526797. Parallax supplies 10 wires usable in solderless breadboards with each propstick kit.

    Nutson,

I was thinking multiprocessor control !
Your right, many I/O can be assembled with small ic's.
    Anyway, sorry for the confusion.
