Propeller temp range

Evening all,

Anybody know the temperature range the propeller chip "supports".· I guess the usual rule applies - if you can touch it is OK?!

Thanks,

James

Assume that it's commercial standard range (0 to 70 degrees Centigrade). I don't think the chip has been evaluated for it's temperature range yet, but nearly all are designed to withstand the the commercial range.

All the critical analog pieces of the Propeller were simulated at all corners. The lowest simulation temperature was -40*C and the highest was 125*C. The PLL, for example, was simulated at these extremes (ie VDD = 2.7V, 125*C, and worst-case transistors)·to verify·reliable 160MHz operation.

We had a regular Propeller chip fully runnig at 160MHz a few months ago. How? We fed it 5V and sprayed it with freeze spray. Not something recommendable or practical, but fun to try.

Ah so it has been characterized (at least in sims) at the extended temperature range (-40º C to 125º C). Any plans for actual formal·testing of the chips, perhaps even at -55ºC ? Theres a certain caché in the industry to state a chip is rated for military temperatures.

For those unfamiliar with the different ranges, heres a table:
