Power Regulators on BoE & SC

Hi,
I am producing my own PCB, copying some of the circuitry from the Board of Education, and Super Carrier (SC) Boards.
I am now doing the voltage regulation circuit, and I see the BoE and SC differ somewhat.

The BoE uses a single 1000uF Cap (C2) between Vss and Vdd
where as the SuperCarrier board uses two Caps, a 47uF (C1) and a 1.0uF (C2) between Vss and
Vin or Vdd respectively.

I was going to reproduce the circuit from the SuperCarrier board. But all my prototyping was done
on the BoE. So my question is: Is there any major difference between the two? Is there any reason
I should follow the BoE design instead of the SC ? My circuit will drive a servo, but this will be connected
to Vin, and not Vdd - so I don't think it has any bearing on this.

Your advice is appreciated.

Paul

The Board of Education has two caps, one between Vdd and Vss (1000uf) and one between Vin and Vss (1000uf).· They are both very respectable circuits for most projects regarding the BOE and Super Carrier board.
