AC adapter vs battery pack

Ok, I know this is probably going to sound REALLY stupid but here goes....

Is it safe to use an AC adapter with the correct plug and voltage instead of the battery pack during testing and programming at the desk? I would then only use the battery pack while the beast is on the loose.

I am building a bot using the Board of Education and just don't want to do anything to fry my BS2 or BoE board. I have been a computer guy but am only now learning the guts-type electronics. blush.gif

Disregard my last question. I just found the AC adapters on the Parallax site. It was a stupid question I know but I am not totally confident in my electronics. I'm just trying to make sure I don't screw up any of my equipment.

Very good idea. And I sympathize. My early training was on the software side of computers and the transition to the hardware side is very uncertain at first. Doesn't seem fair when they start rounding the corners on all those bits we toss around so easily in software.

Stick with it. Lots more fun to have command of both sides. (Pun intended.<g>)
