SERIN: Flow-Control Example Circuit

Hello,

I am trying to build the flow-control example circuit in the Serin-Basic Stamp Command Reference section of the Basic Stamp Manual.
How would I hook, physically, the two grounds together with the 10k resistor?

Thanks,
Casey

If you look carefully at the diagram, you'll see that the grounds are connected together. Basically, you connect one Vss point on one Stamp board to a Vss point on the other Stamp board. Similarly, you connect the two flow control pins (P0) together and the two signal pins (P1 in the example - transmit and receive) together. You then connect a 10K resistor between one P0 and Vss on the same board (one end of the resistor and the flow control wire have to connect to the same P0 - usually you use a short 3rd wire and the breadboard to actually make the connection). There are several Vss connections on any Stamp board ... they are all connected together.
