Using the #29121 Display

I have found the Javelin stamp to do what ever the documentation outlined it to do up till I decided to use a digital gain control. To make the didgital gain contol practical I needed to see where it was set at. So I decided to play with the different displays. The first I tried was the 29121 LCD device with the four bottons. The problem I have run into is that I'm using a USB connection to talk to the javelin bug and it give me an error KNK-2000 when I try and talk to it with the sample software. The software compiles and seems like it should work but I cannot transfer it to the Javelin Chip. What majic thing have I missed or will it only work serial feed.?

There is a problem with the usb version of the BOE in that the javelin ide port
cannot be used to read in data from the pc. However, downloading programs
is not a problem.
Please be more specific about what is not possible, hardware setup, program listing etc.

Thank you for your response! I have not had a problem downloading data from the pc to the javalin stamp, that is programs that I have written. They compile and down load to the stamp fine and do for the most part what I want. I needed to add a display ie the LCD device. I have the eduction board with the usb port and the javalin stamp for test purpose. I have coupled most of my other electronics to this and have been succesful up now. I gather from the limited data that I could plug the LCD Terminal AppMod #29121 into the eduction board and download the demonstration software for the Javalin Stamp from Parallax and see how it worked.
When I have tried this I get two problems (1) the program cannot find the LCD device (2) I get a transfer error with an error code that I can find no reference for.
I have thought about bypassing the usb in-put on the education board and wire the stamp to conect to the pc by a serial port instead, but thought this was perhaps a better path to follow. So that delema. David Taylor
That lcd requires pin1 to pin7 to operate.
If your board has an appmod header you can connect the lcd,
but no other electronics must be connected to javelin I/O pins 1 to 7.
So if your current setup uses any of the pins 1 to 7,
disconnect any circuitry from those pins before connecting the lcd.
