unstable input

Hello everybody!!
from p8 i have atatched a switch and a 10k resistor in series to +5v
i read someehere that whats the way to make a simple switch
However this is very unstable..
Somtimes when i just tap the switch it dosent go off again..
and it can go off and on again with out me touching it at all!
Solution?
i have checked that the switch works fine.
