HALT button for IDE Debug Control Panel
Hello Parallax / PJ Monty;
While the Propeller is all the rage just now, I still need the SX series quite a bit, and there is a (small?)·debug IDE change I would like to request.......
Currently, when debugging while a break-point is set (red line on code instruction), the normal way to cease execution is to press the STOP button, and then execution will cease the next time the break-pointed line is executed. At times however, possibly due to coding errors or other situations, the break-pointed line may never be encountered, and hence the STOP is ignored. The only way to exit from this situation is to execute a RESET, and that can be udesirable during debugging.
Is it possible to add another button, say HALT, that will cease execution while a break-point is set, regardless of what is being executed at that moment?
If space is an issue in the panel, I would gladly give up the Reset Pos. button...... I've never used it yet.
Perhaps a better labeling arrangement would be to·rename the present STOP function STOP on BREAK, and the new button STOP.
Many thanks for your consideration.
Cheers,
Peter (pjv)
