eb500 and MacBook Pro Onboard Bluetooth

Greetings,

This is my first post on the forums so feel free to whip me in shape if I'm in the wrong forum, et al.

I have an eb500 and I am trying to establish a connection from my MacBook Pro to the eb500. The mac discovers the eb500, pairs with it, and assigns the A7 SPP service to it. I'm just completely lost when it comes to actually using the Serial Port created. I've tried 'telnet /dev/tty.eb500-A7SerialPort-1' and I get

Trying /dev/tty.eb500-A7SerialPort-1...
/dev/tty.eb500-A7SerialPort-1: Socket operation on non-socket

I looked at the man page for /etc/ttys because I stumbled upon some docs on the web that mention you may have to enable serial devices in this file. I also tried searching for an OS X GUI equiv to Hyper Terminal to no avail.

Anyone know how to connect to the eb500 from a Mac/BSD/linux style environment?

Also, I have connected successfuly from my windows machine to the eb500 and from the BOE/eb500 to Windows, so I'm sure my hardware setup is good. Any advise would be awesome.

goSerial looks like a good program to communicate with serial devices under OSX
