Stepper motor book

I ran across the book EASY STEP'n, An Introduction to Stepper Motors for the Experimenter and I was wondering if anyone here can give it a thumbs-up or -down. I'd like to experiment with more moving projects (stepper motors, linear actuators, etc.). I know the code examples in the book are for a different microcontroller, but I can deal with that. I need to learn the electronics side and how to safely interface motors to my Basic Stamp, SX, or Propeller.

Here's a link to the book's website: www.stepperstuff.com

Any other books that folks recommend?

Their other Easy Step'n books are well done. Other than being very PIC-specific, I suspect this book is also well done. The table of contents seems thorough.

Yes, I've done everything in StampWorks. But I'm still learning the basics of electronics and I want to dive a little deeper into motor control. I know just enough to know that it's not too hard to fry a Stamp, so I want to learn how to avoid that. smile.gif
