Using python with the pyserial module and the Tkinter GUI to control a servo th

Does anyone have experience using python with the pyserial module and the Tkinter GUI to control a servo through the Basic stamp 2. I have a little experience programing with python but not with the pyserial module. I'm trying to make a simple Tkinter GUI with just three buttons that would move a servo to the left, center and right position. I have searched the web and haven't found anyone who has done this. It looks like most people use Visual Basic but this is not an option for me because I'm using a Mac.
