Long range RF???

Does anybody know about any cheap but long range(>1000 ft.) RF communication devices for the BASIC Stamp?????

    ENCOM Wireless 5100S RS232 transceivers, 900MHz, frequency-hopping spread-spectrum; with the right antenna, 20-30miles +.· $1800 each.

    AEROCOMM has a few devices that go from 4 to 20 miles. 900mhz

    They are RS232 (ttl level) and have some nice features.
    I have a pair of the AC4490-200 modules, so if you choose to go this route(any of the areocomm devices), I can help you with them.

    AC4490-1000M is $77.50 at mouser.com, this module can get up to 20 miles (make sure to purchase a good antenna too)

    AC4490-200A is $63.85 at mouser.com, this module can get up to 4 miles (again a good antenna is needed)

    But none the less, its much cheaper than 1800...

    Renolds has modules that will interface directly with a Stamp.
