Hi,
I just got my BASIC Stamp 1 Project Board but don't have the programming cable. When I try to plug the board directly into the computer's serial port, it doesn't fit in because the to screw sockets of the port block the way. Can I remove those sockets without damaging my board???
Thanks......

You should get a cable!
however I am under the impression that·those screws are just there to ensure a good connection and·if you can get it in far enough to connect and nothing is going to bump it out everything will be fine.· I've used many serial and parallel cables in the past without screwing them in and never had any problems.
