Parallax Serial LCD

Hey!
I had a little accident with one serial LCD. The serial to parallel circuitry broke and I had to take it away, leaving just my backlit parallel LCD. My question is:·Can I use the schematic presented in the parallel LCD pdf or am I gonna have to use another one? Am I going to be able to have backlight turned on?

thx

    Hello,

·· The LCD Modules we use in our Serial Displays are standard Hitachi compatible Parallel displays, so you should be able to salvage it just fine using our documentation for the Parallel Display on our website.

Thx :D, what do I need to do, to activate backlight? As the parallel lcd parallax sells doesnt have backlight, it doesnt mention it on the pdf.

Well, for that I would recommend trying to find (via Google) the datasheet for the LCD.· Without it you may have to experiment a little.
