    · He's 'tinning' (ha-ha)·the IC leads with "solder balls" and then hitting them, again, with an iron.··There are gaps everywhere, you can see as much in his own pictures; the only connectivity is through solder globbing [noparse][[/noparse]QA stamps that "NG".]
    · Re-flow, a.k.a. "the· frying pan", will/should bring all of the pads to temperature, resulting in molten solder everywhere at once and the IC in place evenly;·primary contact is the lead/s actually touching the trace/s and·not through a solder bridge.

    im afraid this didnt really help me... i know i have to solder some smt stuff soon...

    heat guns work well too.
