GPS- bandwidth restrictions?

I know civilians are limited to SPS so accuracy is around +-5m, but I was wondering about bandwidth. The fastest I can find is 4Hz...and for my application I need a minimum of 300Hz or I'll have to use accelerometers and a bunch of math. Just fyi, its for a rocket guidance system(co2/water..not pyro, so its legal).

Also, if anyone happens to know of any cheap laser rangefinders- I was looking at using a hunting range finder because a decent one good to 1000m is 3-400. If I could get a longer range that'd be great, but this is about the most I want to spend at the moment. , and if I could spend less that'd be amazing.

Thanks,

Scott

    Scott,

Where did you see a 4hz model? I've just purchased a 1hz model for datalogging and it may not be fast enough....

    What baud can it run?

    Cheers,

Here's one of them: http://www.u-blox.com/products/tim_lp.html this site has a bunch that are 4Hz, I was just looking at this one because I saw somebody used it for a MAV. google mav; the gps's those guys use are pretty much the fastest and the smallest available.

Cant help you out on baud rate, I dont know.
