XP terminal program?

I need a windows XP terminal with scritps with the following featuries to listen for data from a basic stamp:

Watch for a string (almost any term program that scripts would do this)
Log files (Need one that I can change the name of the log file)
Variables (Each time I get a string, I want to make a new log file)

I wouldn't mind one that could also kick off a second program, but I could handle this with a timed program if I had to.


Anyone know of a good (maybe free) program that could do this???

When I use to·MUD frequently (circa 1990), I used telix and it's SALT language. A windowed program that mimics that ancient program is here: http://www.tucows.com/preview/8455%3F_mid=000003871

Later I used tintin (version 2, circa 1992), that program is still around in version tintin++ which is here: http://tintin.sourceforge.net/·its interface is easier to work with and is almost (but not quite) as versatile as telix.
