Bs2p40 dip package for oem?

I am wanting to build an version of the BS2P40. It looks like the interprester is only available in surface. Just wanted to make sure this the only option as I am doing the layout now, and will order the parts Tuesday.

Also, anyone know if I can get all the other parts in DIP as well, transistor arrays, eeprom etc?

    I'm sorry, but the Scenix SX48 which is the interpreter chip is only available in TQFP form(Surface mount)

    But the EEPROM is available as DIP:

    But why try to roll your own?
    (There are just so many things that can go wrong...)

    Another option is to get an adapter to convert the chip to DIP.· Of course, at some point this still requires soldering the surface mounted component.
