USB-Serial Adapter not working

Hi!
After not being able to get the DOS Editor to work, I decided to give another laptop a try (only USB present). I have a USB-Serial adapter which detects loopback and echo, but not the actual Stamp. The adapter is not much different from the Parallax one, except it terminates in a DB-25 Serial Port (I used a DB25-DB9 adapter on it). Are there any weirdnesses with DB25 serial ports?

What brand and model is the USB adapter?

Does it have a FIFO Buffer setting that you can turn off?

In software you mean? Yes it does. I tried turning it off, but it still doesn't work.
What protocol setting should I use (Xon/Xoff;hardware;none), if that has anything to do with it. I know it's not defective because a variety of mice and a modem work with it.
    Thanks

Unless the USB adapter has a FTDI chip in it or it's from Keyspan, the chances of it working with a Stamp are slim.

My guess is it isn't compatible.· You never mentioned the brand but many aren't compatible due to lack of complete support of the serial protocol or poorly written drivers.
