HI all,
I made a board for the BS2. I can send data from the BS2 to the computer, but I can't program it with the editor. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

If you would like help from the forum participants, you really have to supply details: what's hooked up to what? what are the steps you've gone through? what information have you found out? what is the program you're using? what version of the editor? The more information you supply, the more likely you will get useful information back.

Would it be impossible to "share" your circuit-board design/layout?· I'm guessing you may not have included a couple of capacitors.

    OK...
The board has the same connections as the BS2 Board of education. Instead of connecting BS2 to breadboard, it is connected to the components that I am using.

If I program the BS2 in another board and put for example DEBUG "hello", then if I put it on my board I get "hello" on the debug screen

When I am trying to program it when it is on my board I get the message "No Basic Stamp Found"

When I press the Identify button, I get: Loopback: yes, Echo: no

Compare your hookup very carefully with the BOE schematic here <http://www.parallax.com/dl/docs/prod/boards/BOERevC.pdf>. There are two 0.1uF capacitors attached to the ATN pin of the BS2 that are necessary for the Stamp to be "found" by the editor. You're probably missing them.

I think the problem is on these two capacitors but i have them on my board... I am not sure if the type of the capacitor has to do with that because the values are ok

Any capacitor of approximately the same value (0.1uF) should work. They are likely to be ceramic and of a sufficient voltage rating (30-50V) to work. Again, check your connections carefully. Make sure the hookup is the same as on the BOE schematic or in the Stamp manual page 26. You will have to supply more detailed information if you want any more specific assistance.

there is one thing I am not sure about. On the schematic of Board of Education the serial connector pins 2,6,7 are connected together. On the Board of Education I can see only 6,7 connected. Is pin 2 connected to the front layer with the other pins, so is not visible?

No, man.· 2, 6, 7 are NOT connected together.· There is not a join-dot on them. 6 and 7 are connected together, but 2 isn't part of the deal.

they all go to the Sout pin of BS2...Doesn't this mean that they are connnected?

Pin 2 of the connector goes to Pin 1 of the BS2-IC.· Pin 6 of the connector goes to Pin 7.· That's all.
