Hi

I have BS2SX and the original EEPROM chip 24WC128 died. I have replaced the original EEPROM 24WC128 with the 24lc256 which is the only sirial memory chip I can get here. Can·I use this chip as a replacement for 24LC128?

The PC detects the BS2SX but upload of the program returns error.

How I can use this 24LC256 if it is possible?

I'm waiting for any usful answer.

Regards, Branko

No, it has to be the 128; it's not as simple as using a larger memory and just not using the other 1/2, as you propose.

I doubt that it would work,

The 128 is much larger memory than the 256, and the stamp would need the larger chip.

    Cheers,

    Ford,

·· How did you come up with those figures?· The 128 is a 16KB device while the 256 is a 32KB device...So unless the rules of mathematics have changed the 256 is the bigger chip.· =)
