.NET Micro Framework
Hi:
Microsoft has offered Parallax Sumobots to MEDC attendees in Las Vegas who wanted to compete in a minisumo competition later at the conference.
They have done this for the last 3 years.· What was different this year was the robots were modified to run .NET MicroFramework and were programmed in C#.
Digicom announced that they will have chips and development kits this summer (not necesarily for minisumo robots).
Is Parallax considering picking up this technonlogy?
Comments?

Also "Parallax Sumobots" and "programmed in C#" don't go together. I'll accept that SOMETHING was programmed in C#, but it wasn't a Parallax Sumobot.
Unless I'm way off base here.
Generally I agree with you, except for this. No one ever said that a Parallax Sumo Bot could ONLY be powered by a PBASIC Stamp. Thus is you put another processor in there it might run any sort of software, yet the base system is still a Parallax Sumo-Bot.
Just a thought.

Bruce Bates

Also are these modified kits available from some place, some of our programmers are interested in having some internal competitions. Since they are familiar with .Net and C# the modified kits are of more interest than the standard kits sold by Parallax.
