Parallax Servo Controller (PSC), RS-232, DB-9

Hello,

PSC (Serial) manual says that it supports RS-232. The manual also shows an example with a BOE. I would like to connect PSC to COM port of my PC via DB9 cable. Is that possible? How do I connect DB9 pins to +5, GND, Serial I/O pins on the PSC?

Thank You.

    Hello,

·· Actually we will have to update that.· It supports the serial protocol but not the RS-232 Specification.· It states right after that it supports TTL Level (0-5V).· COM Ports on computers are ~-12/+12V.· We do have a circuit which would allow you to connect it in this manner, however.· Please see the attachment.

I have used that ciurcut and it works quite nice, I decided to add a +5v regulator and 9v battery lead to it on a bit of pcb, makes it very accessible from my pc

Who says you have to have knowledge to use it?
