BS2 to Javelin conversion??

My school invested in some BoeBots, SumoBots and Toddlers programmed with PBASIC 2.5 on the BS2 microcontroller.· How easily can we switch to programming these Bots with Java on the Javelin stamp?· Can we pull the BS2 and insert a Javelin?· Is there a pin receptor converter kit?· How expensive would any conversion be?· My motivaton is that we are teaching Java·already and when the students move to PBASIC 2.5, structured as it·now is, they see the move as a step backwards in terms of language functionality.
Please advise.· blush.gif

    Hello,

·· The Javelin Stamp is pin compatible with the BASIC Stamp 2.· The code is the only thing you would need to convert.

We would still be pulling the BS2s and inserting Javelin microcontrollers, yes?· If yes, what is the cost per Javelin?··Also what is the cost of the Java programming language·extended to interface with the BoeBot?· Thirdly, what sort of instructional manual, comparable to "Robotics with the Boe-Bot" by Andy Lindsay is there?

You can find the JBot package here:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JavelinCode/files/Javelin%20Stamp%20IDE/lib/JBot/
According to the parallax website the software is currently undergoing some upgrade,
but the above package should work with a BoeBot and inserted javelin.

Thanks very much for your quick and useful help.

I will start by ordering three from my regional supplier for Parallax products.

I see the javelin is backordered - no hurry - no sweat ·cool.gif
