Unable to program Javelin stamp

I use BoeBots with Javelin stamps in a class that I teach. Last night two students were playing with the debugger and they managed to put the Javelin stamps into a mode which makes it impossible to program them. If you do an "Identify" from the IDE you get the stamp showing up OK. If you try a "test connection", a window opens up on the bottom of the screen with the message "[Debug]TSXComm Got kComEndLoad" repeating for forever. If you try to program the stamp you get the message "[Debug]Discarding packets" repeating for forever. I have tried going into the program mode on the IDE and then turning on the power to the stamp (did not work). On the advice of Parallax support I tried reducing the latency on the COM port (no good). I am using the USB version of the Boe. The IDE version is 2.0.3.

Any help is resurrecting these poor robots from the dead would be appreciated.

Thanks

Glenn

    GlennMayer,

    1) Unzip the attached file to a directory of your choice. It will extract to a directory called PrimeJavelin with a folder called Javelin Direct and a file called PrimeJavelinEEPROM.bat inside of it.

    2) Run (double-click) the PrimeJavelinEEPROM.bat batch file. It should start up a command window and search for the Javelin connected to a serial port of the workstation.

    3) If it finds a Javelin, it will prime that Javelin’s EEPROM in a way that should allow the JIDE software to communicate with the Javelin again.

IMPORTANT!!!! For this to work properly, the JIDE software MUST be installed on the computer in the default installation path:

    C:\Program Files\Parallax Inc\Javelin Stamp IDE

And the library files MUST be in their default installation areas of that: \lib and \lib\java\lang

Note that this assumes a SERIAL connection, you can try it with USB, but this has not been tested.
