I'd say it's a "noticeable" amount of noise, perhaps 3 decibels over ambient levels without controlling of any electric motors. The sound of the fan is a quiet 'mmmmmmmmmmm". It's nothing compared to the noise associated with the motors you'll be driving from the HB-25, though. They'll sound more like "vrrrrrrrrrrrr!" and you probably won't hear the fan.
We've gone to a lot of effort to carefully select the best ball bearing fans for this product, by the way. We visited Asian component markets and put our top four choices to the test (endurance, voltage range, stress, noise) in our engineer's laboratory. After we were all done the fans were finally torn apart piece by piece to check for any damage we may have caused. At this point we also verified the presence of ball bearings.
Maybe you're on to something, not me. I don't know if the post is about audible or electrical noise, either! Being less technical than most people, I was thinking about audible noise when I initially read the post.
I wasn't concerned about electrical noise since I have several of your products and they are great quality.· I've have had some small fans on other products that sounded like they were suitable for NASCAR and just wanted to verify since it is not mentioned in the product specs.
·· When the HB-25 is just sitting there running it is pretty quiet.· If you install it in certain hollow enclosures it can amplify the sound much like a speaker cabinet.· As Ken mentioned we went for low noise as well·when choosing the fans.

·· You may be on to something here.· I thought his post was regarding electrical noise, not fan noise.

Guess we'll find out when LMac replies.
