Please don't double-post. I'm sorry, but I have no idea. Do you have any on-line documents you can direct us to?

Too bad you made an order already -- we have an AppMod that I believe you could have used on your Toddler:

the purpose of this project was to use a non-parallax product to communicate with a parallax toddler, thats why i didn't order that

That's fine, and the purpose of this forum is to support Parallax product, so you'll have to ask your selected vendor for assistance with it. If they won't provide you with the information you need, how can we possibly help interface to it?· Once you get schematics and/or connection information from them, we can probably assist; at this point it would just be educated guessing.

Click the resources tab of the link you posted·(also follows this post) for pinouts and tech specs and other docs·on this particular product. You won't likely find a schematic for an end product like that, I believe you are referring to the pinout, which as I indicated is avalable at the link. There is also a brief user manual that describes how to use this product. I only glanced at it, but it seems that you only need to pull certain pins high/low for basic operation.

A useful document is at http://kitsrus.com/pdf/isd_2560.pdf

This describes interfacing with a microcontroller, but not the Stamp,·and has example circuits.

Another route is to use a hybrid approach of building a pushbutton-controlled type of·recorder board and use the Stamp to control record and playback by using its outputs to substitute for the control pushbuttons, as in http://www.robotics.com/arobot/aspeech.html
