KeyPad question

I've been looking at allelectronics.com magazine, and I spotted a KeyPan Encoder IC.
Hooking up is not a prblem, but hooking it up to the BS2 is.
Here's the data sheet loction: [http://www.allelectronics.com/spec/EDE-1144.pdf]
On page 5, they have data outputs, 4 of them. Does anyone has a code that I can use so BS2 can understand its inputs?
I plan to make a BS2 to light a led when four correct keys are entered.
Any ideas?

Here are the folks that developed that chip if you have any speific questions about the chip itself: http://www.elabinc.com/
They're real nice folks to deal with, and are very helpful.
