Here is the new Parallax Propeller Demo Board (Rev B). We should be able to start shipping these mid-May.

Please note the .pdf schematic attached to this post, too. It shows how·a lot·basic stuff gets hooked up.

    Hi Chip,

Really nice!· This board should be a "hot" item.

    Chip:

Now that looks you have the demo board well under control when Parallax will start selling them?

    Very soon I hope.

    Same as always:

The new design will inevitably be tested, and manufacturering will need to be scaled up. All this takes time.

    Chip:

Do you have any idea when Parallax is going to take orders for the demo board?

We'd like to wait nearly until we are able to ship before taking orders. This means mid-May, most likely. It will cost $129 for the board, or $149 including printed manual and CD-ROM.

Two questions on the new board:

Will there be mounting holes in the board or some other means of mounting (would be more than nice to have
when incorporating the boeard in a experimenter's bench)?

What is that post just above the microphone connection?

    Regards

That's a ground post, Adrian, for 'scope leads and whatnot. Yeah, I know: they're all too uncommon on dev boards from other folks but, oh, so useful. These guys thought of everything! (I can't count how many times I've tried to clip three ground leads onto a regulator screw!)

And the ground post is located right next to the Propeller chip, so with good scope probes you can touch the ground ring directly to the post while probing a Propeller pin on that side.. That avoids the extra nastiness that can come from long ground clip leads.
