Problem with Parallax serial LCD

Hi,

I·have·a parallex 4x20 character serial LCD (#27979) that·does not respond to anything that I send it (it just shows the cursor on the first line). I've tried using all 3 transfer speeds with the same result.·I'm going to guess that something broke, but I haven't the slightest idea of what·that could be --·it just stopped working after running fine for a while.·I probed the pins on the LCD's microcontroller and pin 5 has the input I send, but·I can't see any output. It does, however, work in test mode. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Reconnect everything.· If it has worked, then there's a good chance it still works and you have a bad wire.· Just make sure you set the program baud rate to match the switches on the LCD.· If the LCD was bad, I doubt that test mode would work.

I checked the wiring and am entirely sure that all is fine (i'm just running a wire wrap from a pinout to the Rx pin on the LCD). I'm pretty sure that the problem is·with the serial-to-parallel converter board.·Is there a·model number for the actual LCD used in this part? Unless anyone has any other ideas, I would like to try to use the LCD directly in parallel.

It's an integrated module; you'll have to send it in to our office for repair. Call the Tech Support gang at 888-512-1024.
