Basic Stamp Communication with VB .NET 2.0

Does anyone have a simple example using the new "IO.Ports.SerialPort" class in VB .NET 2.0? I am just experimenting with PC to Basic Stamp communications and want to first figure out how to send data from the stamp and then how to send data to the stamp. I have found many VB 6.0 examples and some .NET 1.0 examples but not much for .NET 2.0.
