Integrating sxSim to SxKey

SxKey 3.1
SxSim 1.0, 2.06,02, 2.08.04
I actually got 2.06.02 to work the first time I tried it from 3.1. Cool. Since then, however, I have been unable to obtain a "command" window in 2.06.02. A 'tab' "Command" opens in the task bar but it will not reopen the window.
I have downloaded 2.08.04 and run it stand alone. It opens a "command" window but contains no source code.
I have since run 2.06.02 and run it stand alone. It opens a "command" window but contains no source code.
I have added and deleted all three versions of SxSim to the program...tools directory. 3.1 either runs 2.06.02 or claims not to have a current version of SxSim but will be happy to install 2.06.02 for me.
Can you help me convince my machine to run 3.1 and call 2.08.04 with the current source code so I can move forward?
I apologize for the brusqueness of this post but two hours plus have expired on this with NO progress on MY project.

did you read the IMPORTANT NOTE section in my fist post of the "sticky" SxSim thread ?
When you run SXSim stand-alone, it does not automatically show source code on start-up. Instead, you must select the file to be opened first.
