It seems the new Propeller chip will do both of these and provide a digital oscilloscope --- all on a T.V. screen.

In the past, I·have suggested that you can use an oscilloscope to see noise and observe how to insert filters to eliminate such noise when it is causing trouble [rebooting a microprocessor, etc.].· But, it is a trial and error process.

Either Bode plots or FFT with plotting are suited for this.· They may actually identify the offending frequencies.·

The problem is I don't understand the 'what' and the 'how' of their roles in electronic design.· I can look at the text book explanations and ponder the math, but without out an actual use to 'hang my hat on', it all seems too vague.

Can anyone offer explanation.
Since I have already bought 5 Propeller chips, I am looking forward to using one as a Lab tool.

Hopefully Dr. Allen can formulate an answer....
I read the subject and it brought back all my college math fears!!

A good laymens' term description would go over great!
