complete newbie need help

I have purchased boe Rev C··· and i do not have a serial port my pc in new so i have purchaced a serial to usb convertor but the cd that came with the boe does not have the drivers it seems pls help where can i find this info. Its not finding the port either i guess i need the drivers first.

    OK. Did you buy the adapter from Parallax?
    What exactly happens when you download the code?

    when i insert my usb in the pc it says found new hardware but cant install the drivers its nowhere to be fond on cd and when i run identify in basic stamp editor all port are invalid and says com port 3 (cant open port)

    when i run DEBUG "hello World!" it say no basic stamp found

    · It's pretty clear to me that you need to find the driver for your usb-to-232 converter.· Better use Google, if the manufacturer doesn't have a site to download it from.
    · Do you have a standard serial port on your computer?

    thanks for the help was able to download the driver off a website thanks again
