In my thread "Shaker Clock", that is the eventual display.
I love the POV idea, and was going to use a back & forth motion with
end checks (so I could reverse the processess as the wiper goes back and forth...)
Mine's gonna be smaller... use POV to display the info...
The "beta" code is nearing completion... just some basic index issues and getting the timing down... but once I get the hardware worked out, I'll get the timing real fast. I plan on having it determin the timing using sensors at the end points...
I have a few ideas on how I can do the display at the same time determin how long it took to go from one side to the other side.
This is a cool clock tho...

· OK -- and the "Darth Vader needs a voice" Subject has gone on for 3 pages without so much as a hoot from a Moderator, in fact one (namely you, CS) gave his blessing despite the fact that it in no way involves any Parallax product, it's absolutely "non-Parallax" and totally bloody stupid. · All this to say nothing of the 15+ pages of given the "community-based milling machine".
· So, what gives?
· It's not uncommon that people post about doing thus and sundry with LEDs and I figured this perhaps some inspiration.

I suspect there is a movement underway to keep this a set of "parallax" forums, and not let them become a "electronics" or "robot" or "LED usage" forums. As Parallax is the owner/sponser/sole supporter (in terms of Internet bandwidth and server resources), this is their perrogative, and probably makes sense.
From the Parallax perspective: If the topic has nothing to do with any Parallax product, or the usage of same, why does it belong here?
On the other hand, one of the things that makes these forums so useful and productive is the sense of "community" and the ability to throw in the occasional "off topic" post.
It may just be that a few too many have been posted recently, and the good folks at Parallax want to clamp down before things get out of hand.
It's a fuzzy line, and we all need to work and find the limits.
·· You'll notice I didn't lock the thread and blatantly say "this post is off topic"...I was merely trying to casually steer us away from the off topic posts.· Picking the Darth Vader thread is not the best example since we do have a few possible solutions to his original question.· So while the thread has wandered off-topic the original subject wasn't necessarily.· As John R. pointed out we're just trying to steer things in the right direction.· You weren't being singled out.

What am I missing? Why does it need to spin like that?
