Considerations When using Crystal Oscillator Modules?

Hello,
I just wanted to know if anyone was aware of issues or had successfully used XTAL Oscillator modules with SX48s running at 50Mhz?
I have a design running off 3.3V and when I program it it runs fine from the SX Key or from a resonator but not when I connect a clock to the OSC1 pin. I have set it to HS2 and·the clock·is buffered.

Lastly, I have read in another post that to program using SX-Key I have to disconnect the Oscillator. Is this true just for 3.3V or also for 5V systems?

Also can anyone tell me what the Input Syncing Enable in the DEVICE setting does?

Thanks

    Assaff,
Are you using any Brown-out settings ? Try BOR26.

The SX-Key outputs a high voltage (+12 I think) when programming, your oscillator will probably either be damaged or will shunt the voltage (which will prevent programming).

There was a discussion about the Input Syncing awhile ago. I must admit I don't remember what the outcome was. Try searching for it from search.parallax.com
