How could I use 2 servos (up/down and left/right) with a infared or sonic to track a object?
I have a robot with an eye and I want the eye to track movment at about 2 to 4 feet.
If you're only using one sonar or IR sensor you will need at least two, and more likely four if you want x-y tracking.· One sensor alone can't easily detect when an object disappears from its field of view which way it went.· But if you have two trained on the subject then it's easier.· In your case though you will likely need some sort of cross configuration cocnsisting of four sensors with a 3-4 foot focal point.

Would it be easier to mount a camera behind the eye for tracking?
I have 2 items that gave me the idea: 1 is Robosapien V2, he tracks items, But they have to be very close.
And the other is my Logitech Quickcam it has better tracking than Robo.
Just not knowing anything about this, really hurts.
Thanks
this morning I was looking at the CMUCam website. There are videos there of their bots using the cam to track and/or follow objects. Might be an easier solution since sample code is already there on how to do it.. of course, there is the cost of the thing. I think the cmucam was like $130 whilst the cmucam2 was somewhere in the $170 or so
